Delhi Launches AI Control Centre to Track Pollution 24x7

Delhi has launched an AI-enabled Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) to monitor pollution sources around the clock and link real-time data with enforcement on the ground. Operated by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), the facility is located at DMRC’s IT Park in Shastri Park.

A major construction-sector application is surveillance of more than 700 building sites exceeding 500 sq m. AI and CCTV cameras will monitor these sites, with the concerned department and site owner alerted when an increase in PM10 levels is detected.

The ICCC combines AI-based analysis, live CCTV feeds, air-quality data, complaints, field inspections and GPS tracking on one platform. Once a pollution hotspot is detected, the responsible department can be notified while GPS-enabled vehicles track the movement of enforcement teams.

During winter, 78 sub-division-level teams will support monitoring and enforcement. Vayudoot teams will also use body cameras while acting against road dust, open burning and construction-related violations.

The system will track mechanical road-sweeping machines, analyse historical air-quality data and monitor AQI stations. The broader pollution strategy also calls for expanding monitoring stations from 47 to 60 and deploying 334 enforcement teams against non-compliant industries.
