Real estate developer Sobha has placed a repeat order for Pace Robotics’ Centa Painter after deploying two units of the construction-finishing robot on live projects, according to Pace Robotics. The companies are also working towards a phased, pan-India deployment beyond the latest order.
Centa Painter is an autonomous, modular robot designed to perform putty application, sanding, primer and painting on internal walls and ceilings. Pace Robotics began commercial deployment of the system in December 2025 following more than four years of R&D, site trials and pilots.
Sobha was Pace Robotics’ first commercial customer, initially taking delivery of two robots in Bengaluru. The repeat purchase follows several months of their use on active construction projects and signals a shift from trial deployments towards integration into regular project workflows.
Pace Robotics said Centa Painter had secured an order book worth Rs 5 crore within six months of commercialisation, covering real estate developers, contractors and paint brands. More than 20 developers and construction companies have also evaluated the technology through live demonstrations.
The company is now focusing on expanding customer deployments and scaling manufacturing as robotic building-finishing systems move towards wider commercial adoption in India.
